Legacy Ventures breaks ground on Hyatt House Atlanta Perimeter Center and opens Downtown Atlanta restaurant Dos Bocas and Port Aransas, TX restaurant Dylan’s Coal Oven Pizzeria.

President & Founder David Marvin receives the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Most Admired CEO Award.

Legacy Ventures takes over management of Chattanooga, TN restaurants Old Gilman Grill & Citron et Sel, as well as the Sheraton Madison Hotel, on behalf of third-party owners DeFoor Brothers Development.

Legacy Ventures opens the second Atlanta area Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria.

STATS Brewpub earns a Silver Medal at the Big South Beer Competition and Festival for its Shooter McGavin Witbier.

2017

After completing a major renovation of the historic hotel, Legacy Ventures relaunches The American Hotel Atlanta Downtown – a DoubleTree by Hilton and opens The Cloakroom Kitchen + Bar.

On the 10th anniversary of opening STATS, Legacy unveils a brewery addition and rebrands the restaurant as STATS Brewpub.

Legacy takes over management of Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown on behalf of third-party owner Portman Holdings.

Legacy receives two Downtown Facade Improvement Program Grants from Invest Atlanta and adds murals to the Glenn Hotel and Restaurant Row.

Embassy Suites Chattanooga-Hamilton Place receives the Hilton Embassy Suites Hotel of the Year Award and the Embassy Suites total Quality Score Award.

Legacy opens its 9th restaurant, Twin Smokers BBQ, the 4th Legacy restaurant at Restaurant Row in Downtown Atlanta.

Legacy completes the transition of bringing management of all owned hotels, restaurants, and event spaces in-house.

As developer for GE Pension Trust, Legacy breaks ground on the first new-build full-service hotel in Georgia in over 2 years: the $48 million Hyatt Regency Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina.

After completing the ground-up development project, Legacy opens the Embassy Suites Chattanooga-Hamilton Place, marking Legacy’s 1st hotel property managed for third-party owners and the 4th hotel in its managed portfolio.

Legacy receives the Economic Impact Award from Central Atlanta Progress for making lasting and positive changes in the Downtown Atlanta community.

Legacy breaks ground on the first new-build full–service hotel in Chattanooga 20 years: Embassy Suites Chattanooga-Hamilton Place on behalf of third-party owners.

Under Kevin Richards’s leadership, Legacy forms a hotel management division and brings management of the Glenn Hotel and Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown in-house after the success of its restaurant management division.

2011

Legacy expands its restaurant management portfolio, taking over food and beverage management at the Glenn Hotel, including Glenn’s Kitchen and SkyLounge, as well as the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown and catering services for the rooftop event venue, Ventanas.

2010

Under Brian Bullock’s leadership, Legacy expands into restaurant management, bringing operations of STATS, Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria, and its third restaurant concept, Der Biergarten, in-house.

2009

Legacy asset manages its owned portfolio of roundly 1.5 million square feet encompassing hotels, restaurants, event spaces, retail, and parking. Legacy’s Park Pavilion mixed use project achieves 100% occupancy.

Legacy opens its first Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria, Legacy’s second restaurant at 300 Marietta’s Restaurant Row.

2008

Legacy completed the Park Pavilion mixed-use development project and opens the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown, public parking deck, retail, restaurants, helipad and rooftop event venue, Ventanas. Legacy receives the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Exceptional Merit Award for Urban Revitalization for the project.

2007

Legacy opens its first restaurant: STATS, a 13,500 square foot sports restaurant at Restaurant Row.

Legacy acquires the Radisson Hotel Northlake through foreclosure and secures a new DoubleTree Hotel franchise.

Hilton Worldwide names David Marvin the Multi-brand Developer of the Year for Legacy’s Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown and DoubleTree Hotel Atlanta Northeast/Northlake.

2006

After a complete gut renovation, Legacy opens Atlanta’s first boutique hotel, Glenn Hotel. Legacy receives the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Exceptional Merit Award for Historic Preservation; the ULi Atlanta District’s Excellence in Development Award; and the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation’s Excellence in Rehabilitation Award for the project.

2005

Legacy repurposes 300 Marietta Street from office space to Restaurant Row.

Legacy receives Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Deal of the Year, Best of Atlanta Real Estate Award for the Rehab & Renovation of the Glenn.

Legacy receives City of Atlanta Tax Allocation District Grants for its Park Pavilion, 300 Marietta Street and Glenn Hotel Projects.

2004

Legacy purchases the historic 1923 Glenn Building from the City of Atlanta. Vacant for 20 years, it originally served as an office building, and Legacy plans to repurpose the building as a boutique hotel.

2002

Centennial Park West Condominiums welcomes its first residents, attracting high-profile urbanites. Legacy receives the ULi Atlanta District Council: Small-Scale Project of the Year Award.

2000

Legacy purchases Adidas’ Olympic headquarters, a collection of historic buildings at 300 Marietta Street and converts it to office use.

1999

Embassy Suites at Centennial Olympic Park, the first full-service hotel built in Downtown Atlanta in more than a decade opens.

Legacy begins developing and opens sales for Centennial Park West Condominiums. Legacy receives the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association: SMC Professionalism Award for Best Sales Center.

1999

Legacy’s President, David Marvin, receives the 1999 Spaulding Award from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for taking a chance on the revitalization of Atlanta with the development of the Embassy Suites and condominium complex near Centennial Olympic Park.

1997

Legacy begins development of the Embassy Suites at Centennial Olympic Park after the City of Atlanta awards the project Enterprise Zone status.

1996

Legacy hosts Olympic Top Sponsor Village and NIKE’s Olympic Attraction on its Downtown Atlanta Tract during the 1996 Summer Olympics.

1994

The Legacy Partnership is founded after purchasing five acres of land in Downtown Atlanta with plans to redevelop the property, adding a hotel, residential and retail space.

1970

David Marvin starts his career in construction. Marvin goes on to become professional engineer and gains 15 years professional experience before forming Legacy.
