Executive Legal Assistant
Julia Vastola serves in a central operational position at Legacy Ventures, providing support to the President and the CFO, serving in a project management and paralegal capacity during major transactions, managing the permitting process for new assets, maintaining Legacy Ventures’ corporate records and compliance, and managing the corporate office operations. Julia also supports and drives cross-divisional initiatives in culture, marketing, information technology, and process improvement.
Julia previously worked for Legacy Ventures in 2011-2012 in a similar role and managed the permitting process for Legacy’s very first managed hotel before a move took her to the West Coast. Prior to returning to Legacy in late 2016, Julia worked for Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies in San Francisco, auditing outside counsel’s handling of workers compensation defense cases. Julia was instrumental in expanding and improving BHHC’s use of its cloud-based legal management software to monitor case handling, reduce legal spend, and improve reporting. Prior to joining Legacy in 2011, Julia gained many years of experience at a real estate closing practice, working as Pre-Closer, Post-Closer, and Title Auditor before transitioning to Litigation Paralegal. Julia holds a BA in History from the University of Georgia.
Julia is passionate about productive landscaping and has a growing collection of Southeastern native and/or edible plants. She enjoys cooking and food tourism, both in and outside of Atlanta.
