Giving Kitchen is this year’s recipient of the James Beard Foundation’s Humanitarian of the Year award, which is given to an individual/organization whose work “in the realm of food has improved the lives of others and benefited society at large.”
Giving Kitchen is a non-profit organization that provides stability to the food service community in Georgia through financial assistance, by creating a hub of community resources, and by fostering a restaurant community where self-care is valued above all else. Since the organization was founded in 2012, it has provided “over $2.4 million in financial assistance through the Crisis Grants program and over 1,000 referrals to community resources through the Stability Network program.”
