David Marvin

Since founding Legacy Ventures in 1994 with his first investment in Downtown Atlanta, David Marvin has grown Legacy Ventures into a best-in-class hotel management, restaurant management and development company. As Chairman, David continues to cultivate an exceptional team that has the passion, tools, and support necessary to drive outstanding results. 

David’s professional career began as graduate engineer on the docks of the Electric Boat Naval Shipyard. He then moved into project management for a commercial contractor. Ten years later, he transitioned into real estate development. David holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MS in Real Estate from MIT, and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He has been recognized by the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance for Outstanding Vision; by the American Institute for Architects for Exemplary Leadership; by the Georgia Governor for Tourism Partnership; by the MIT Center for Real Estate; and by Hilton Worldwide as the Multi-brand Developer of the Year.

David is active on many civic and industry boards, including the Atlanta Rotary Club, Central Atlanta Progress, the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District Board, ADID Interagency Law Enforcement TaskForce (Chairman), the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau Board, the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance, Georgia State University School of Hospitality’s Advisory Board, Partners for HOME Board, and the Centennial Park District® Board (Founder and Chairman).

David enjoys playing tennis, coaching flag football and spending time at the lake with his family. He is a traveler and an art collector.
